Hard To Handle Racing is a drag racing team owned and operated by John Sumners. Based in South Texas, I enjoy drag racing at San Antonio Raceway currently in footbrake and street legal classes in my 1969 Mustang Mach 1 Fastback muscle car. After being bitten by the racing and muscle car horsepower bug, I am in the process of building a second 1969 Mustang Mach 1 tube chassis Top Sportsman car dedicated for drag racing. This website will focused on the build out of that Top Sportsman car and in the future will highlight our results on the track. You can also read about our project on our facebook page by clicking the "like" below.
I would like to extend a special thanks to Michael Ramirez with RAR Racing who is a very good friend of mine and without whose help I could I never have built my awesome 69 Mach 1 street muscle car or the current 69 Mustang Mach 1 tube chassis project. Michael is an IHRA Division 4 official, a very talented fabricator, and a knowledgeable drag racer. I would also like to thank my friends at Alamo Speed Shop who have been instrumental in helping me with my builds and in educating me in this hobby.
Lastly, for those of you who have a an interest in learning more about the muscle car industry, my friends at The Muscle Car Place podcast are a wealth of knowledge and well worth the hour listen every week. You can check them out on iTunes or themusclecarplace.com.
